ARCHITECTURAL ABSTRACT MINIMAL GEOMETRIC ART BY NICHOLAS SHERRY

Geometric Minimalism abstract art best describes my three series “Elemental, Locomotion and Industrial”.  In the Elemental series I use the simplest of forms, light, shadow along with the use of a vibrant colour pallet and orderly chaos, while still conveying a sense of overall static unity. The Locomotion series uses the same geometric forms and shapes as the Elemental series, but incorporates a sense of motion, bringing a new dimension of tension to the static.  The feeling induced by angling the shaded rectangles gives the impression of an erupting power, braking forth from the ordered and ordinary.  Industrial is also based on simple geometric shapes while giving a more raw urban feel.

MINIMALISM ART

The theory of minimalism is that without the diverting presence of composition, and by the use of plain, geometrical or highly simplified configurations so as to experience all the more strongly the pure qualities of colour, form and space. Geometric Abstraction is a form of abstract art based on the use of geometric forms sometimes, though not always, placed in non-illusionistic space and combined into non-representational compositions.

ABSTRACT ART
Abstract art uses a visual language of form, colour  and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world.
